About The Angelo Pizza

Located at 229 Market St, Philadelphia, PA 19106, The Angelo Pizza operates as a pizza restaurant serving Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11 am–8 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (215) 964-9218. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, theangelopizza.com.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 500 reviews, which is a strong result for a pizza restaurant in Philadelphia and suggests consistent service.

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Philadelphia peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This was my first time eating their pizza. We had the Vinny and Paulie and they were absolutely delicious, especially the Vinny. I even had the opportunity to meet Angelo himself. He’s a very outgoing and personable guy who genuinely cares about his business and clientele. It made the experience that much better. I highly recommend ordering from this restaurant.

Great little pizza shop. Pizza is about perfect. Had a half pep/sausage and half cheese. Crisp crust, great blend of sauce and cheese. Will Def be back on my next visit to Philly. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

We love The Angelo Pizza! Great place to bring friends or go on your own. Inside and outside seating. Clean environment, enjoyable place to eat. Staff is friendly and great! It’s very hard to pick a favorite pizza but lately we’ve been getting Half pie Carla and half pie Vinny’s. But the Charlie’s, St. Antney and Charlie bananas are also so so good. Fridge to grab favorite drinks out of. Love this place! Also the best GF pizza crust for those who need it.

I discovered The Angelo Pizza by chance while out with a friend, and it turned out to be an exceptional find. As someone who enjoys exploring different pizza spots across the city, I pay close attention to styles, flavors, textures, and the quality of ingredients used. From the very first bite, it was clear that The Angelo Pizza stands out for its commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients and pizzas made entirely from scratch. That dedication creates a truly remarkable taste. One of my favorites on the menu is St. Antney’s, it’s so delicious that I could enjoy it every day. The restaurant itself has a warm and cozy atmosphere. While the indoor space is modest in size, it’s comfortable for dining in, and during the summer, outdoor seating is available. A particularly important feature is its wheelchair accessibility, including a private restroomβ€”an amenity that isn’t common in many restaurants in the area and one I truly appreciate. The service is equally impressive. Angelo, the owner, is welcoming, friendly, and a passionate baseball fan. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with genuine hospitality and a positive atmosphere that makes you want to return. Whether you
